From 2003 to 2006 the EU funded INTERREG III B project ELLA „Elbe-Labe preventive flood management measures by transnational spatial planning“ created an important basis for transnational co-operation between the authorities of spatial planning and water management. The political representatives of the partners signed a joint declaration for a long-term co-operation on 6 Dec 2006 at the end of the project duration.
LABEL approved!
This will be continued in another cooperation project in the Elbe river basin. In September 2008 the project LABEL “Labe-Elbe Adaptation to flood risk in the Elbe river basin” was approved by the European Programme “Central Europe”. The Title stands for Labe-Elbe and the development of transnational strategies and measures for adaptation to risk at the Elbe.
